Federation of Canadian Municipalities chooses Camden for COVID-19 campaign

Agency produces crisis-related microsite and social media content

Camden Advertising has created a microsite and social media campaign for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), an organization uniting nearly 2,000 local governments representing more than 90 percent of Canadians.

The aim of the website is to ensure that mayors, city councillors and municipal leaders from across the country have the tools at their fingertips to help them navigate the COVID-19 crisis. This bilingual online hub is supported by a suite of social media shareables, as well as content for the FCM’s first Instagram account, all designed and programmed in-house at Camden.

“Municipal leaders are on the front lines of this pandemic. Right across the country, we’re working flat-out to keep Canadians safe, and to help people and businesses weather the economic storm; this website is a useful tool for communities,” said Kerri-Anne Finn, Manager of Digital Communications at FCM. “Thanks to Camden’s agile structure and workflow, we were able to get our municipal hub up and running in under three weeks from brief to launch.”

Camden’s recent high-impact work on websites and online campaigns for non-commercial organizations was a significant factor in the agency’s selection for the project.

“Because no employees were laid off or furloughed due to the crisis, Camden has been running at full capacity since the pandemic hit Canada,” commented Mathieu Bédard, Camden Group CEO. “This means we’ve been able to service all our current clients as well as gain new ones like FCM, and I’m delighted to see our creative and digital teams in the Montreal office deliver such on-point work so quickly.”

The microsite is expected to remain online for the duration of the crisis as a digital touchpoint for municipal stakeholders across Canada.

About FCM
FCM has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. Our members include more than 2,000 municipalities of all sizes, from Canada's cities and rural communities, to northern communities and 20 provincial and territorial municipal associations. Together, they represent more than 90 percent of all Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Municipal leaders from across Canada assemble each year to set FCM policy on key issues.  We advocate for municipalities to be sure their citizens' needs are reflected in federal policies and programs. Year after year, our work benefits every municipal government and taxpayer in Canada, and our programming delivers tools that help municipalities tackle local challenges.
