FC Barcelona: A Standout Activation in Asia-Pacific

FC Barcelona is far more than a legendary football club, it is an organization that actively champions women’s rights. So when Camden was mandated by the club to help engage audiences across Asia-Pacific for International Women’s Day, our teams quickly concluded that the solution needed to combine technology, social media, and activation.

We developed a digital engagement system for fans, centered on playful interactive content, including an augmented reality filter and a library of animated GIFs, designed to spark participation across the FC Barcelona ecosystem in Asia-Pacific. We also led various event-based activations, such as commissioning a mural painted by women artists in Hong Kong, and mobilizing opinion leaders across key regional markets. Finally, we produced a celebratory video for FC Barcelona’s More Than Empowerment initiative in Asia-Pacific, featuring fans from six different countries, the club’s incredible training academies, and its women’s football team. Results: Nearly ten countries reached, strong and organic engagement, and an initiative that exceeded its awareness and impact objectives.
